“You know what, guys, it’s so noticeable, it’s scary,” said Sutter. “It’s like a bad disease that you have to try to fight off and get through and get a cure and get going. The individual has to take responsibility and say, ‘This isn’t good enough. It’s not acceptable.’ Yet, the only measure you have is through play.”

I wonder if that makes for an awkward family gathering since he has his brother to blame for a lot of their problems.

Unless something comes up that it too good to pass up, Feaster should wait until the trade deadline when teams overpay and re-load the cupboards with draft picks.

/How do you like Regehr so far, by the way?

Maybe it's time for Dr. Irving...

At six feet tall and 23 years old, Calgary Flames prospect Leland Irving of the Abbotsford Heat is neither the biggest nor the youngest goaltender in the American Hockey League. But he’s quickly becoming one of the best.

Newly minted as the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week, Irving is riding high with his Heat atop the Western Conference. Having started 18 of Abbotsford’s first 19 games this season, Irving (13-5-0) leads the AHL in wins, minutes played (1,022) and shutouts (3) while ranking fourth with a 1.94 goals-against average and 10th with a .927 save percentage.

Good question, jstew, I really don't know. If things keep going like last night, Brent may have a lot more time for reconciliation.

The games that I've seen he's looked really good.

Knowing the type of player that he is, the fact that his name doesn't get mentioned all that often is a good thing. I think he's still pointless on the season, but he doesn't make many mistakes, is excellent positionally, and leads the team in short-handed TOI, which is a big reason the PK is currently 2nd in the league.

He also brings a much needed mean streak and toughness to our back end.

Don't know if that would help much since he'd probably blame his brother for getting canned.

Dr. Recchi?

I don't think he's either coach or GM material yet...
