I guess Bruce Dowbiggin was just on Team 1040 and apparently he ripped the Flames to shreds saying we are on route to being the worst team in the league in a couple years.

Somebody encapsulated Dowbiggin's thoughts on Team 1040 as follows:

The Canucks have a much more "progressive" system of player development than the Flames. - I would agree with this point

· The best the Flames can hope for is a low seed in the playoffs. The team is old and tired, and hampered by too many aging and decrepit veterans on one-way deals. - Um, Regehr and Langkow have been traded for younger players and this is likely Sarich's last year as a Flames player - Is he suggesting that we trade Iggy as well?

· Iginla will likely take a step back this season; does not look to be starting the year healthy, and if he misses any time, the Flames are likely one of the worst teams in the League. - Iggy has already stated he's dealt with back issues in the past, Dr. Nick Dowbiggin.

· Administration insists that they will not take the same "blow-it-up" approach as Edmonton, despite the surety of this model; it is working out very well in Edmonton—who will quickly leave the Flames in the dust; why can't management see that this is a sure way to long-term success? - Yes, it's working so well in Edmonton that they've finished dead-last in the league two years running and will likely be a lottery team this year. Besides, does anybody see how he contradicts himself?!? The Flames could be a playoff team, yet he wants to blow it up? Moron.

· No prospects on the way. Baertschi is a nice piece, but the next best thing is probably Nemisz: he is lumbering and slow, with hands of stone.
Well, the Flames had Tim Erixon, but the Rangers tampering stole him away. Ryan Howse could be a nice prospect, Patrick Holland has played well in the pre-season.

In summary, I hope Bruce take a job in Vancouver.
