I guess they’re debating activating Lock to back Allen up. If they can activate him to be #2 he should be starting. Still I can see why they’d maybe wait and give him a bye week to prep for his first start.

Even then, the Browns at home is a better first start than the Vikings on the road.

NFL.com is reporting that Flacco's injury could keep him out for a lengthy period of time. I think the Broncos will finish the 2019 season with Allen and Lock under center. Joe's a goner.

If Lock was on the active roster the fans would have been really unsettled wanting to see Lock over Flacco, especially with the way the season has gone. It was a pretty brilliant move by Elway so his rookie HC didn't have to deal with the pressures of a rookie QB waiting in the wings. Well not until now.

During his press conference, Flacco said of his neck massage on the sideline:

"Yeah, I've been dealing with it for a couple of weeks, it's just a little strain in there, just trying to get it worked on and keep it as loose as I can"

He seemed indifferent about it, as if it were no big deal

And now, all of a sudden, it is a big deal

Perhaps his comments before that are more of the cause

Lock said back in September that he was experiencing no pain in the thumb ..

I have supported and defended Elway all through these past few seasons, however, if, for whatever reason, Flacco is done for the year and we don't put Lock out there at some point, that will be cause for mutiny from fans
