Seriously.

Wtf?

This HAS to be a coaching issue. The pitchers just aren’t ready at first pitch.

A question that just popped into my mind upon reading your post: Does any of this rest on the catchers too? Are they ready to call a good game from the 1st inning? Or is it all on the coaches/pitchers?

By the way, does this count as a GDT? And how long is Corban Joseph on this team? I really don't understand this pick up.

Good point/question. I have no idea.

Both @tzill and @msgkings322 's #weaklinks are going strong today. @Stokes1931 's boxes are all getting checked off too, so far (0-2 RISP, 1st inning runs, awful offense).

Hey, slow down. We have one hit through six innings. After last night, these guys are tired. Many of them hadn't seen 2nd base in at least a week.

This HAS to be a coaching issue. The pitchers just aren’t ready at first pitch.

The Giants have given up 108 first inning runs in 55 games (out of 139).

They are being outscored by 59 runs on the season.

If they could cut down on the first inning runs......

Pitcher? Catcher? Coaching? Talent? Poor scouting? ("Hey this guy can't hit curves, so throw him some curves." Whacks one out of the stadium. "Oops, I meant to say NOT to throw him any curves. I read the report wrong. Sorry about that.")

It just does not seem like they are ready.

Or maybe they are TOO ready. Too much warmup in the pen. Too much info in their heads about analytics.

:noidea:

Whatever the case, it is a really bad look.

Poor guys. They must be tired with all that hitting they did yesterday. If only they played once a week like in football. Oh wait . . . they do.

Well, that game sucked.
I was going to rave about the bullpen but that last guy came in and threw a clunker of an inning. How surprising that he would do that, given his numbers with Miami and Sacramento this year.

We faced a fine young pitcher today who kept the Gs pounding the ball into the ground.

JC bum and Sammy for next year, but we need one or two others to eat some innings for f sake. The relievers ran out of gas.

Hitting a baseball is hard, not for the Cardinals necessarily, but for us...

Ha yep. I think he'll stick around.
Pretty good chance, depends how badly he wants to win soon, and as always money. There are some good teams that would come after him hard, with his playoff pedigree
