@JonathanKMartin: Lakeland (FL) RB T.J. Simmons ( @tjsimmons4 ) has de-committed from UCLA. He'll decide between #WVU, Temple and Marshall, he says.

Appears WVU is making a late push to get some real studs…

Not sure how it will end… but, to see WVU going head to head with some of the elite schools is pretty cool…

A 6'6" WR has decommitted from another school and interested.

This weekend WVU will host two DE's who've committed elsewhere…

I'd like to see some surprises. We have lost some good commits to bigger schools and have dropped out of the top 25 in both rivals and Scout. I hear rumors of studs flipping to us, hopefully we get some.

Good news is that our two QB commits are enrolled. Sills has all the tools to start as a frosh and with 5.5 speed, he and Crest could run the same offense. It would be great to have 2-3 QBs who can run and pass also. Holgs needs a great QB to make a run at a conference championship.

I honestly feel that with the defense we have coming back.....if we can put together a good squad on offense we could make a run at it next year....we have a brutal away schedule and TCU will be standing in the way, but we should be a very tough out next year.

All we need is great QB play. I'm hoping that Sills comes in and becomes the WVU savior.

The 6'6" WR is also 200 pounds and was a Miami commit. Rumor is he could have a problem with grades, same as the RB Simmons.

Signing day should be very exciting this year, I think we are going to see some suprises.

I've read the same thing about both. My understanding of Dana's recruiting philosophy is that he will no longer go after a kid who is an academic question mark. I know Gibson sat out because of grades, so maybe there is an exception to his rule?

Not qualifying for a school like UCLA or Miami, might not mean they fail to meet WVU's standards.

Once I saw the RB had Marshall on his final 3 list, I knew academics were a factor…

Yea I have to agree with that, at least that's my gut feeling heading into spring. Gawd it would be so nice to finally have the QB spot solidified with a strong D1 starting caliber guy (no offense to Trick he did all he could but he doesn't come to mind as a top shelf D1 starting QB) That in itself could make this offense look entirely different imo.... and its not all bad now.

Always nice to get a former Pitt commit to decide its best to be in Morgantown.

That commit finishes up our Oline for this class. Dowdy's commitment gives us 5 Hogmolly's counting the Michigan transfer who was a 4 star kid out of HS.

Best group at those positions in several years. Kudos to the staff!:suds:

This has been a solid recruiting season so far....one think I have loved seeing is the WVU name out there on a lot of big time recruits.....I do not believe I have ever seen WVU mentioned so many times with Bama, Ohio St, and so on when it comes to the big time recruits.....we are making a lot of final list these days some we have sealed the deal and some we have not, but this staff is definitely working it hard. I would not be surprised to see a couple more big names coming to MoTown next year.

Bad coaching...

Some of the recruiting guru's at BGN think it is still possible Whitehead flips on signing day. Would be nice to steal another Pitt recruit away...
