If you get it right, you get your post liked... or something like that.

if you get it wrong, and you complain, you go to the Dayton mall, if it's still open.

My feeling is, they really want to replace our former best player, AJ Green.
Joe Montanta had Jerry Rice right?
Donny had Marrie, Sonny had Cher, Obama had Biden.

yes, they could certainly use Sewell, and the chances are Burrow gets hurt again, but the Bengals don't really care about all that stuff.
yes, they could use a mismatch weapon like Pitts, and they miss Eifert. they could really use Pitts, he'd be like our new Eifert, but no. this is Cincinnati, and you know how they think.

The current rumor is: DET has tried to trade up to 4 to take Chase. ATL hasn't agreed - makes me think they may be taking Chase, which has been the rumor for about a week now, to replace Jones. One NFL writer has stated that Jones has been an issue internally for a few years now, and they can cut him after the cut date and only pay $2M more than if they kept him around. They are looking to trade him.

I think ATL screws the pick up for the Bengals because I do think they want Chase (Bengals/Brown with his shiny skill positions love) and they end up taking Pitts - I don't think they are sold on Sewell, and I do think they believe they can get OL in round 2 and 3.

I've seen a few deep dives that have stated Pitts may end up being the best skill position player (non QB) that ends up coming out of this draft. He's a prototypical Spread TE that is really just a massively big WR.

So, I go with Pitts - but more because I believe circumstances will dictate it.

sound reasoning....

not sure what will really happen.
Agreed. I know each year people say the draft will be wild - but I really do think this year has the potential to see a lot of movement in the 1st round. Those QB's start flying off the board, and teams that really want a QB are going to get desperate. Will the trades happen? Who knows - but the mix is there for a very intriguing 1st round.

As soon as you all see our offense with Chase in it for a year, you will all be in love with the kid and the connection Burrow will have with him. Deep ball accuracy here we come!

Mark me down for Chase.

Probably Chase. And I think I'm ok with it.

They'll probably end up getting burned in the 2nd round and the good linemen will be scooped up ahead of them

Chase. I'm okay with this.

However, they have to pick for need with their second round pick. That need is fairly obvious.

It will be Chase. I will be OK with it if the board breaks in rounds 2 and 3 for them to get OL. Could still potentially land a solid OT and/or OG

not a whole lot of OL going off the board.

round 2 should be good for us to get an OL

Great pick. Now we need the Hobson "Bengals cut to Chase in round 1" article.

Also congratulations Crash!
Thank you thank you. Tons of great Oline still on the board. Really praying Teven Jenkins drops to us, but I can't be that happy in life, so I am sure he won't or we won't take him. Long Snapper anyone? I mean, he does play on the offensive line.

Right now the pick is a B+ for me. To push it to an A - they need to land a solid OL in round two.

The board is breaking the Bengals' way, even though the Raiders tried to ruin it by taking Leatherwood about 30 spots too high...goodness we talk about ineptitude with the Bengals - but what do the Raiders do to prepare for the draft? I mean...yikes.

I think we need to trade up and take Jenkins with the Jags. I think t he Jets are targeting him. Probably move up for our 4th round pick. OL is the most important thing right now. Get the 1st round talent Jenkins now, and sink another 3rd rounder into Deonte Brown or Kendrick Green. The 4th rounder might have a chance to starting as we have done okay there, but this is all about Joe Burrow after sinking a ton of money in the defense in FA last two years. We are paying for defense, drafting offense. Get the guy that can take over for Reiff next year in Jenkins and can be a bit of a swingman this year. Brown or Green (I like colors) would be a couple big dudes to occupy some space and help push those big DL of the AFC north around to make room for Mixon.

Don't trade away capital in the draft for Jenkins. Lots of really good options are going to be there. The Bengals are not just an OL or 2 positions, away from making a move like this.

Also - it's not their MO.
