A new study shows that the San Francisco 49ers, not the Dallas Cowboys, are most deserving of being called "America's Team."

The study, conducted by Custom Ink, compared Google search interest data for every NFL team to determine the non-local favorite of each state. The 49ers were the most popular out-of-state team, followed by the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants.

Some pretty amusing things shown there. How the hell are the Jags the favorite out of state team for 2 northern states? How are the Jets the favorite for Maine & does this somehow assume that the Pats are "in-state" for Maine? Also - that Raiders one will have to be changed in a few years. Good stuff.

I live in No. Alabama now & I call bullshit on that. Folks here have a tendency to root either for teams w/ Bama players or front runners like Steelers, Pats or Packers. Perhaps these Rams fans are elsewhere in the state, but I have yet to see one of them & I have seen lots of fans for other NFL teams.

Titans - out of state favorites for 3 states? LOL. Bullshit! I live pretty close to Nashville & I would feel confident in saying that they are not even the favorite there. I see that one of the states listed for them is Mississipi. I call BS. Perhaps some of that is true since parts of that state are near Memphis. Otherwise - I would say this is crap. There are tons of Saints fans in MS as well as Giants (due to Eli), Packers, Steelers & obviously Cowboys fans. Not exactly sure who compiled this info, but it is suspect.

There is no exact science, at least this is backed up by data. People using google search to look up a team, I'm sure their some interest to search for them.

BTW - why is OK the lone non-Cowboys state in that whole area? Again - do they some consider the Boys to reside in that state? If not then I say no way in hell are the Cowboys not the favorite team for OK. However again if this is based on Google searches then OK, but that is a BS reason to declare them the favorites.

Nope. I think that they all said "Cya Later" after the Bengals extended Lewis last offseason & in the process basically showed their lack of desire for true success.

If we are being technical about what is "out of state" (& seems to be the case since the Eagles are shown as favorites in NJ where certain cities are very close to PHI) then honestly does anyone not believe that the Pats are not the fan favorites in states like Maine & Rhode Island? I find that impossible to believe.
