We were Pontiac people.
My uncle was a good friend with the local Pontiac Dealer, so that's what we bought.
I remember 1 cousin getting a new '68 GTO.
Another cousin, a new '70 GTO.
Lots of Catalinas, Grand Prix's, and Bonnevilles.

What kind of "People" were your family???

My dad was, and is, a mercenary. But he did have a huge boner for Mazda. Never got the appeal personaly.

We really didn't have particular brands of cars/trucks, my dad liked all kinds and usually had 3 or 4 at a time and it wasn't unusual for them to all be different.

Can't say that, we were all over the place. My grandfather liked Fords, one of my uncles was strictly Pontiacs, my dad liked Rambler/AMC, another uncle was anything GM...and so on.

Mostly blue collar working class family.

My dad early (60s) on bought mostly Chevys, at least 2 Impalas I remember. Then in the 70s, maybe things got more prosperous...he bought a Lincoln Mark Series, and later on a Towncar. My first ride was a '79 Monte Carlo.

I have a cousin that went totally off the grid and bought '73 Datsun...folks thought he was on something at 1st.

Dad had Town Cars that all made 350k miles and we abused the every living shit out of them. So, I've stayed pretty loyal to that brand.

Idk how many miles we got out them, but the Mark VII I want to say was his last car before he turned in his keys, 80+ at the time, scrapped it twice pulling into the garage and just voluntarily turned them in....I had moved out by then, but drove it a few times...smooth riding heavy as hell car.

Can't say that my folks were particularly 'brand loyal', but I remember a time when they had a Rambler & a Matador, & my dad's folks had a Gremlin & an Ambassador. - And I remember my dad looking at getting a Jeep (still owned by AMC at the time) Cherokee; though he ultimately decided against it.
