The more I think about our #1 pick in the second round (#37 overall) and a Sean McVay offense, the more I like Engram to be our pick if he's still there. Current mocks have him listed as the #3 TE going between #33 and #40.

Engram ran a 4.42 at the combine at 6' 3" and 232 lbs. He can line up outside, inline, or in the backfield. A Jordan Reed type weapon. Not only does he have long speed, but his short area quickness is phenomenal. His forte is creating mismatches against linebackers and safeties with regularity.

I can easily foresee McVay utilizing his size outside at receiver and speed inside at tight end. Using Higbee in two tight end formations should be a staple of the offense.

As much as I like TreDavious White - CB - LSU - if he's still there at #37, Engram would make total sense.

Haven't heard much about Hemingway, but you got to wonder about how he may fit in McVay's offense.

Battlelyon - Thanks for the link. According to the article, we might have to jump the Bears who pick one spot in front of us. Can we please catch a break from the draft gods!

I've seen this selection hyped, but I don't see the fit personally. How many non-blocking TEs do the Rams need? They haven't even started using Higbee yet, but both he and Hemingway are catch-first TEs. For a team with a stud RB and a struggling o-line, I really feel the Rams need a more well rounded TE to add to the mix. Someone like Njoku (if he slides to the Rams) would be a much better fit IMO. Engram is an oversized WR that isn't going to help at all in the running game.

shop - I feel ya. However, Engram has been evaluated to have an extremely good "first punch" as a blocker. I too would take Njoku over Engram but I'm positive he'll be gone by #37.

Engram is a better overall TE by far than Higbee and Hemingway IMHO.

Before we start individual draft selection threads, make sure you can't fit the topic in one of the already existing threads such as the Rams current events thread or the mock draft thread.
