My wayback machine has a lot of miles on it, but it still runs pretty good. You made a comment about Letang being named captain as a little bit of a "strange" choice and the poster using the handle amnesiac took offense (basicailly called you a racist). I just sat back and enjoyed some popcorn.

First of all it shouldn't make a difference if the injured players is an "elite" player or not, they should be out to protect ALL of the players. I get pissed when the "elite" player BS comes up and the hard working grinders on the third and fourth lines should too.

There is no respect amongst the players anymore it seems like we had less head shots years ago when players didn't wear helmets and visors. (I know I probably sound like Don Cherry here) There were more good body check's back then but now it seems like the first thing to come up are the elbows and sticks.

If Eugene Melnyk has been saying this for years I must have missed him saying it when Chris Neil blindsided Chris Drury a few years ago and knocked him silly.

I agree 100%. Average players on the ice deserve every bit of protection and respect as star players do when when an offense is being reviewed.
