I prefer RPI in terms of measuring/selecting NCAA tournament teams, but I like BPI and KenPom more as a measure in terms of the strength of the overall team. Purdue is #3 in KenPom. I think they are really good this year. As far as your team, I feel like they are always rated better in BPI/KenPom, but they aren't seeded as such come March.

I think Iowa has an RPI of 21 or so right now which is probably about right as it pertains to where I think we end up seeded 6 or so. BPI always seems to have outliers but not nearly as many as FPI. I look at KenPom all the time

Yeah it may even out this year, but out of the last couple of years, they've seeded Iowa much lower than the BPI and KenPom would suggest.

2014 - KenPom: 28, BPI: 26, NCAA seed: 11/PIG
2015 - KenPom: 19, BPI: 36, NCAA seed: 7

Actually 2015 was probably about right. If you average the two it's about a 7 seed.

But even in 2013 KenPom had Iowa at 25, and BPI had Iowa at 43 and they didn't even get in that year.

Yeah in 13 our OOC SoS sucked and in 14 we lost 7 if the last 8 coming in but I was shocked they were in a play in game that year. I was expecting a 7 or 8 seed lol

I think they all suck since RPI is flawed.

But BPi is awful simply because it's ESPN way of feeling important.

Yes, Saint Mary's is most certainly better than Kansas................

This is as big a joke as QBR, and every other metric ESPN has ever made up just for shits
