ESPN has the microphone to sway public opinion. I wonder how far they'll push it?

It's my opinion that Texas had no intention of moving to the Big 10 or Pac 10 and were only using those conferences to further increase the advantages they already had in the Big XII conference.

That's what I was telling everyone too. It just never made any sense for Texas to surrender the control they had over the Big 12 to make a move. Neither the Big 10 nor Pac 10 were going to cede any meaninful amount of power to Texas. They leveraged the possiblity of breaking up the conference to gain even more control over the Big 12. Well played by their part actually.

It will be interesting to see what ESPN has to say since they were one of the big players to come in and guarantee some windfall tv contract for the league. Not sure they will be content not getting some of that money back by allowing Texas to retain sole television rights like the Longhorns are aiming for. If Texas does pull it off, you have to figure the Sooners would be next, then what are the rights to the other conference games without those two even going to be worth?

Texas could walk away with egg all over their face if ESPN get's a judge to give them the papers. If something fishy was in those emails/texts/papers- ESPN would do a great story.

Ya think ESPN is trying to say something here to good ole Texas or is this just PR.

Even neg PR keeps them in the headlines?

Considering there's nothing on the Disney college football homepage about it, I'd have to say the former..
