They’re on a mission to ruin sports.
That PPV "test" game garnered quite a hefty sum, and they all took note. Blaming them for the actions of those who decided to shell out their money to watch a game is undeserved... it's just good business.
That said, I am interested in your perspective on how they will "ruin sports."

Good business decisions ruin things. It’s the bad part of capitalism. When capitalists try to squeeze every cent out of a product, people will stop using it. In this case, people will stop watching gradually over time until no one cares and no one talks about it.

Personally, I just fucking hate streaming sports.

One app controlling all the sports you love , what possibly could go wrong ? Making something convenient with one group having a monopoly on it is never good for consumers or freedom .

Yeah, but it was the lowest-rated game of the weekend, while interest should have been the highest. A "streaming record" isn't shit compared to a normal broadcast record.

If you look at the demographics of viewers of this game, it lost in every age group except Gen Z , the kids, basically, who still live in Mom's basement and can't afford a place of their own because they spend all their money on streaming services.

The NFL isn't interested in present generational spending, that's already locked in. Generational Z is part of the future sports spending power in the U.S. The league took note of that future and although there are certainly those among us who will minimize those numbers, the NFL certainly will not.
