Erik Karlsson is a beast

Just finished watching the Sens/Jets game. Good gravy this guy is fun to watch. Every time he has the puck something dangerous happens, some of the time for the opposing team but more often than not for his own.

Got a good building block there Sens fans. (Damn you)

Kenny believes he is already the best offensive dman in the league. I think he's gotta be in the top 5. This kid is special and he's going to put up some insane numbers for a long time.

This year he has really improved his defensive game as well so watch out. He's somebody the Leafs will have to deal with for the next 15 years

Yeah, the Leafs have been great this year and the Sens have done a lot better then anyone believed they would. Karlsson, Cowen, and Rundblad will be pillars on defense and Lehner will be the guy in a couple years. They just need to develop a few forwards and they'll be pretty damn good.

So yeah it looks like the rivalry might be renewed soon enough...

I mean the one thing he obviously knows how to do well is build a good young team.

I've never doubted Murray's ability to rebuild a team. He did it Anaheim and he's doing it in Ottawa now. Where I blamed him was his free agent signings and his coach hirings. He's failed miserably in both of those areas but it looks like MacLean was a good hire so maybe he made up for previous blunders.

Muckler was the guy who did the most damage to the Sens though. He mishandled Chara and overpaid Redden. He screwed over Hossa and then traded him for Heatley. He should have been able to get that team a cup but he never made the right moves. When he was fired the team was destined to decline. It just took too long for management and ownership to realize it.

Lol David Rundblad made that one happen. Him and Karlsson will give teams fits for years to come and I love it

Your Panthers are doing pretty well though.

Hopefully both teams make the playoffs. I'd like to see the Leafs in them too (not as much obviously).

I remember a couple years back, there were a lot of Karlsson/Kulikov debates on hfboards, etc. I just noticed Karlsson has put up 20 assists already; pretty impressive.

He actually has 21 assists now which is the most in the league and he has the most points among defensemen in the league. I made a thread about it a week or so ago but Karlsson is a guy you need to pay attention to because even though he's doing all this now, he still has the potential to be much better then this. People talk about all these other young defensemen and skip over Karlsson and it leaves me shaking my head. I don't think many people outside of Ottawa, besides huge hockey fans, know how good this kid really is.
