Newly appointed fentanyl czar
Runs Jared Spurgeon of the Wild into the end boards (nice push at the end as well). Just brutal.

Gotta be at least 3. That colour guy didn't seem to know what he was talking about. At first it sounded like he was trying to defend the hit then seemed to change his tune a little.
McLeod can go fuck an ape.
Shouldn't have made contact but should not try to stop with a guy riding you. That was identical to the Patrice Bergeron hit a few years ago.

So he should have tried to skate through the boards and into the crowd?
I'm pretty sure he stopped because it was the logical thing to do and not because he thought if he did that then the other guy wouldn't hit him. I'm still not exactly clear as to what you think he should have done instead. Where was he supposed to go if he wasn't supposed to stop? Or should he have avoided going near the boards in the 1st place?
I agree players shouldn't always assume they won't get hit simply because they are in a vulnerable position but that is absolutely no excuse for the player that does hit them in said vulnerable position. I think it's a moot point anyway as it relates to this hit. The guy stopped because made all the sense in the world to do so.
Stopping suddenly when a player is riding you into the boards is only going to result in bad things. He's in a dirty area and just needs to take the hit or veer off to his left there. Again, contact should not be made in the numbers no matter what, but I feel this is a minor play that happens multiple times a game in the corners. Just the way I see it. I want to hear how the league views it.
When you say he should have just taken the hit, what exactly do you mean? Do you mean skate into the boards without stopping on his own and get hit? Also at the speed he was going and with the room he had, it makes no sense to suggest he should have planned to change direction once he retrieved the puck.
According to the TSN boxscore, McLeod is in the lineup tonight for Colorado, so it appears he escaped suspension and since I didn't hear of any fine, it looks like there was no supplementary discipline whatsoever.
