April 2019 Me agreed with you. Today me is just like "They really haven't figured this out yet?" These are the types of things that make you question the Sox management/coaching knowing wtf they are doing. If he goes out there for another start, much less a start vs. a team directly in competition with us for a division win? Then they're all f*cking nuts in the head. They can't be that dense. I refuse to accept it. Even a lab rat could figure this out.

There was a time when I felt that if Lopez couldn't cut it as a starter, he could have success as a long reliever. I remember a number of his starts where he actually pitched 2-3 strong innings before falling apart. Now he can't even seem to pitch a single inning without us biting our nails. At the very least he needs to spend time away from the roster - this season that would be Schaumburg, then next year start him out at Charlotte. If not that then see what we can get in a trade.

What a disappointment he's been this season. He was pretty good last year, especially the final month. But I suppose that's why he has bounced around. He may have to do some more bouncing. And while we're on the subject, I haven't exactly been thrilled with Cishek either.

Not unless we suffer another injury.

He will find his way back up to the majors, for a rebuilding team who will take a shot at him. Not for us, though.

You cannot hope to contend for a pennant and go into a season with the idea that Reynaldo Lopez will be in your rotation.

I know it sounds like I have some visceral hatred for Lopez. I don't and I actually was super high on him when he was tearing up AAA and then looked solid his first few months in the big leagues.

The sabermetric people were all talking about how it was never going to last. Due to his luck with BABIP, low swing/miss rate, walk rate, hard contact rate, etc. But I didn't want to hear it. I was in denial. lol. That may have even been when I totally stopped questioning analytics and sabermetrics. They were so right and I was so wrong.

I wish him the best. Just not here.
