About 100 miles from Port Austin, at the Thumb's tip, down coastal M25 to Port Huron, where the Great Lakes all flow into the St. Clair River... the Lake Huron coast is not "beachy" like the West coast on Lake Michigan... lots of rocks, cliffs and way incredible sunrises... no salt, no sharks, beautiful but freezing ass cold water 11 months of the year. Took this picture today (5/31/2025) from the road looking east, just north of Port Hope, just south of Port Austin (heh.)

You don't get the sunsets or high cliffs with dunes, but Lake Huron is every bit as great as Lake Michigan otherwise. The beaches between Lexington & Port Huron used to be my family's go to for day trips... and the water is fine from mid-June through mid-Sept imo, but then I've been acclimated to colder water, represented in my avi, all my life.
