When these future years come into discussion and numbers get bigger, they get bigger because we are losing players.

As for who replaces PG, I have stated numerous times, JC and JR replace his production. This opens up the world for Harris. DJ is more sketchy. JD would be the easy answer but nobody can really take over the deep threat of DJ; however, we can replace him with a better all around player.

They replace his production... maybe. But they dont replace his impact.

Take Jackson and Garcon off the field, and all of a sudden, teams CAN affords to double cover Reed and Crowder. Take Jackson and the threat of the deep hitter off the field, and all of a sudden, Reed is not running across the middle in single coverage.

Our offense works because we have at present 4-6 pass catchers that you cant afford to ignore. Let two of those walk to save a couple million... and start to wonder why our offense becomes middle of the road.

We sign MOses to a contract for an Average RT.. Hell BUlaga is only making $6.75M a year average... I think Moses will cost less.

Long.. as a center... MAybe $7m a year

JC... as a slot WR... Lets splurge and say another $10M a year.... in 2019 when we will have some where around $60m in cap space if we totally over pay everyone you fear will get massively over paid.

You know there is an app for this right??

OK...so now your numbers in 2018...

KC...24 mil
PG...10 mil
DJ...10 mil
JC...10 mil and could be more than a slot
JR...10 mil
TW...14 mil
SL...7 mil
MM...7 mil

That is 92 million right there.

Realistically, we can lose PG and not be hurt at all. DJ, like I said, more important.

DJ...10 mil
JC...10 mil and could be more than a slot Contract doesnt expire until 2019
JR...10 mil Already accounted for in 2018
TW...14 mil Already accounted for in 2018
SL...7 mil
MM...7 mil

JR...10 mil Already accounted for in 2018
TW...14 mil Already accounted for in 2018

So... Lets recap...

Kirk at $20M for 2018 which is what I expect
Garcon and Jax at $8m each, which is more realistic

Long at $6m which is what i expect
and lets go crazy and say Moses gets the highest RT contract in history and costs $10m

20+10+16+6= $52M out of a projected $70M in 2018... mind you thisd does not even account for any carry over from 2017.

Fuck dude I would seriously hate to work for you every year come annual review.

You are playing subtraction. I an playing the actual numbers.

You also say DJ will be 8 million which is what I said I would offer and you keep saying I am low balling. I even said I would go to 9.

Im playing the reality of cap accounting. Half the guys you mentioned have already been factored into our cap situation going forward for the next few seasons. So the only deals we actually need to consider are those that need to be made. You also seem to be working under the notion that average cap dollars and actual cap dollars are the same. Contracts are never that simple. Luck averages $24,5 million a year, but his actual cap numbers for 2016 and 2017 are less than $20m.

I expect the same sort of cap structure for JAckson, Garcon, Cousins and any one else we sign, Lower cap numbers up front, higher in the back, with the opt out of taking a smaller hit on the back end if they are released/traded. With the rule of rolling free cap space forward, there are only really two or three deals left from the old cap structure that could hurt teams. We dont have a Romo type deal out there. Even the Colts with Lucks contract... the largest in NFL History... are in good cap standing going forward. The new rules were put in place to prevent teams from having no choice but to gut the roster due to the cap. And Dallas is likely the last team seet to suffer from the old CBA. And even they are not screwed by it.

Once they take the lumps from Romo in 2017/2018, even they are pretty well setup as far as the cap is concerned.

It all gets paid forward.

As for me and work...I work for 2 weeks and then off for 2 weeks.

Thats the beauty of having three PCs. I can rebuild an Exchange server, watch Stargate reruns and shot the breeze in here.

This place sort of acts as decompression time therapy. :pound:

the only legit wr i of think of who is younger and offers the dynamic we want would be terrel pryor

and look lets be real if you think we fix this defense in one off season dream again . the draft could net us 3 players this draft got us 2 (fuller )

i am thinking 2 drafts if we hit on who we pick

You don't need to fix the entire defense. If you add 2-3 impact players it very likely can improve the play of several of the existing players. Coaching & hard work can also improve the play of existing players like Breeland & Smith.

Also - the defense doesn't need to be perfect (& just about every NFL teams has flaws either on offense or defense) - they just need to at least stop being a huge weakness for this team.

look we cant be what we want to be without 3 safeties 2 ilbs and 4 d/lineman . some player movement can be done but that is where we stand

Disagree. If you just fix say one of those areas & part of another it should at least improve the D to say the pt. of giving up several less 1st downs during the game. This could make the difference in a few games. That may be all that is needed to be a solid contender. Not looking to be the 85 Bears or close to perfect - just looking to be more effective.

You can perhaps use the next offseason to get even better, but you can still improve to the pt of making a serious run by just somewhat addressing your issues. I really think that you are minimizing the effect that solid players have on the rest of the lineup.
