Damn. I knew how special Barkley was, but damn, we cannot afford to allow him to break tackles. The defense needs to learn to tackle low on him. That being said, he is fun to watch.

It wasn't so much breaking tackles as much as everybody just trying to throw a shoulder into him.

It was hilarious how aikman didn't understand the obvious reason that was roughing. He kept talking about some other hit or helmet to helmet.

Nobody can tackle him! It wasn't just the Eagles. He is the complete RB, and barring injuries, he will be one of the GOAT's when he finishes.

Well....that was a lot better! I kept repeating it all game to myself and will say so now....the Giants are horrible. And they quit for huge swaths of the game. But no matter....it is good to get some deodorant on the stink.

The offense looked much better. I’m not saying we don’t need to go trade for a RB, but Clement/Smallwood made their case for that RB to just be of a depth variety. Considering it was the Giants I don’t think it will keep Howie off the phone.

Defense looked a lot better too. I’m not even going to criticize on handling Barkley....he is just fucking amazing good! Was it me or did we see Jones taking the outside from Mills early on before he tweaked his hammy? As for Mills, I will say this....he is a talent issue, but not a confidence one. That doesn’t help on the big completion or two he gives a game, but he doesn’t go into a mental hole after those plays.

I mentioned earlier this week that if we don’t get the loss streak over tonight there will be 10 days of horrible noise leading into the Panthers and Jags games. I think they solved for that....though I expect the common refrain the next 10 days to be “well....that was a bad Giants team”

Best hope is a lot of the smiles and conversations on the sideline translates forward. These guys know how to overcome and keep winning with momentum. Hopefully this starts it up as this is a rough little stretch coming up.

It’s just the flaw with the offensive scheme. Early on you could see it....passing on 1st down, Giants blitz. Run on second and long, Giants stack the box. They know what’s coming.

When we can get a decent lead early Doug’s scheme is amazing. The running takes over and is very effective with a lead. But you have to get that lead first. I would be much more of a fan of Doug mixing up his playcall scheme early on while trying to build that lead.

It’s all so dependent on getting that jump out and lead early. If you don’t then the scheme seems to break down too often like the last few games. Carolina and Jax won’t let us just cruise out to a lead so easily.
