Cross that one off the list....LOL. He got more money than Gronk over the next 4 yrs. He caught 16 balls last yr. If this is the money being thrown around, not sure NE goes near anyone.....

Just goes to show how few real TEs there are in the NFL.

If Gronk was a free agent, think the NFL would be handing out the first $300M contract?? 8 years at $40M per??
I could see then Cowboys and the Raiders spending that.

Desperate move for a desperate team. I like Allen but "come on man".

With the Colts re signing Allen (albeit for an unexpectedly large figure), I assume they will not try to sign Coby Fleener. He always played very well versus the Patriots and BB has made it a habit to sign those type of players. Wes Welker is a prime example of this in a positive way (of course, Scott Chandler didn't work out so well). If Fleener doesn't want Allen type money, he might be appealing to BB.

Early word is that Matt Forte is considered a "second tier" RB, so BB might be able to get him for a reasonable salary figure. Also hear that Pats have "kicked the tires" with Mohammed Sanu and Rishard Mathews at WR. They might be pretty pricey. If his knee and hamstring are not too bad, Leonard Hankerson might be worth a look. He spent several weeks with the Pats last season, so at least has a working knowledge of their system. If he showed anything at all during his brief stint at Foxboro, he is worth taking a chance with. I still like the idea of a trade with the Giants; Chandler Jones (they really need help on the DL) for their second round draft choice and a sign and trade for Rueben Randle.

Forget that, NYG signed Vernon....no need to trade now. Jpp and Vernon are going to be nasty.

I don't think Allen is even a real TE. I consider him part fullback.

Not sure if that's part of him getting huge money or not.

Hmmm, the joys of hitting the open market.

But Dwayne got 4 years, 29 mil. Aka, around 7.25 mil a year. Gronk got 6 years 54 mil, or 9 mil a year in 2012 (would be about 11.6 mil a year in todays money based on cap increase)..
