Redskins placed S Duke Ihenacho on injured reserve with a fractured heel, ending his season.
Ihenacho was the Redskins' No. 3 safety behind Brandon Meriweather and Ryan Clark. He also contributed on special teams for Washington.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the softer they have made the off season over the last 20 years, the more season ending injuries we see every day at this point?? Hell Tullock ended his season doing a sack celebration for crying out loud. Hall blows out an ankle when no one was within 40 feet of him. And Rg3 blows out an ankle running to his right. Not to mention the headliners lost for the season before training camp even started.

Sorry dude, but in todays NFL the injury bug excuse only goes so far. 6-10 likely means quite a few people get fired. Uness we get to the point where street free agents are playing 70 snaps a game 3 days after they are signed, I think the owner, fans and the team SHOULD expect better.

Agreed, but three weeks into the season, or hell before the season even starts... you dont look at your team and say well if we hit 6-10 we are doing good. Shoot for the Superbowl, accept the division and playoffs, SETTLE for .500, and if things do go bad well then that is when you start looking for the positives out of a season gone wrong. It does always shock me that you the board king of think positive and most people are good inside never actually expect this team to actually do GOOD. And no thats not a dig, I just find it a bit quirky is all. :)

if i was a coach, gm or owner , then no i dont .

when i am a fan of a team that has finished last 4 of 5 years then i do

i dont expect the team to do good because the talent isnt there yet

line up our talent vs the top teams and it isnt there

i expect 6-10 and contrary to popular belief i am not a blind homer

Its not about being a blind homer. You of all people I would expect to understand that its about expecting better. Hell Philly is considered a top team. Every analyst out there is lining up to kiss Chip Kelly's sack. And yet at the end of the day, we took the mighty Eagles down to the last 2 minutes in a game on the road that was decided by 3 points. 6-10 would and SHOULD be a disappointment to any one considering him or herself a Redskins fan.

i expect it will take 3 years to get the team where he wants it to be a consistent winner

one game does not a season make

i will expect better when i feel the team is set up

If this was 1980, or even 1990 I would agree on the 3 year time table. But in todays NFL, if coaches dont show real improvement from basically day one, they are on the hot seat unless their name is Jason Garrett or they have a track record before getting to their new home. If this team finishes 6-10, Gruden will be on the hotseat going into 2015. Injuries MIGHT save him. But 6-10 means some one loses their job. I know you have no faith in haslett, but I dont want a Rob Ryan situation either.

well shark then we are doomed to failure . i dont expect a rookie HC to win right away and i think gruden could be a good HC

i dont buy that argument at all

so far i dont have a beef with haz, i am giving him a chance , more then you gave Rg3

There is still a long ways to go & the Skins have a pretty easy schedule for the next few months - save for the Seahawks & Cards games. So no telling how this will pan out both injury & record wise. However - the Redskins would be extremely foolish if they fire Gruden after one season unless they only win one or two games.

I sure hope that you are not advocating firing Gruden in that situation. I realize that teams are less patient in this era but you cannot have a carousel of coaches - the Redskins have screwed up in this area before. I really hope that you are maintaining that Snyder might do this (which I don't believe to be the case) and not that you believe that this is a good idea. Teams take time to build. Let's hope that it does not come down to this & the team has a better record.

It is funny that all of us - myself included - always have such a negative take on things. Let's try to enjoy some of the positives. This is certainly better than the tail end of last season's dreadful conclusion.
