Why do they not get the same excuses as Frost?

Did they not inherit the same things?

Before Frost goes after assistants, I think he needs to..

#1 Wash the Mike Riley players out through attrition OR effort in practice, film room, team meetings, S&C.
#2 Catch up to the Big 10 in physicality across the board. This is not the AAC. Flair is gonna get the football shoved up your ass. Illinois, Northwestern, Indiana, Purdue were all equal to Nebraska physically.
The physical part of the game contributes to the penalties and turnovers that plague Nebraska.

I agree, not sure at this moment i really have anything to add. No need to overreact but plenty of reason to be upset with this team in the interim. Excuses dont change anything for me, still embarrassed by this team.

I could get behind this, with a short leash on Walters and Chins.

I just don't understand how you don't have linebackers staying home. when the last five possessions of Purdue resulted in then marching down the field we couldn't stop them at all.

I mean is that coaching? is at the players not understanding thefundamentals of football? are players being coached out of position or are they having a disciplinary issues.

Didn't they open all positions to competition already? If so, omg are the cupboards totally empty sans the guys redshirting.

Illinois improved drastically this year by going hard after portal players. Recruit more talented Nebraska kids in the walk on program that will play hard for the in state team.

Nebraska has more 4 star players than Wisconsin, Iowa, & Minnesota so where's the problem - players/coaching/scheme?

Nebraska coaching staff needs to stay the same we need to stay the course. Frost was left with a big pile steaming shit. I though Callahan was the worst coach we ever had. Holy shit I was wrong Riley the nice guy and his staff is nothing more than a shit stain in Callahan shorts. Pearlman, Eichorst and Riley totally destroyed this program and Scott and his staff now need to take this baby and raise it up its going to take time. We must give him time.

Yeah I think it will take or at least I am prepared for it to take 7 years for Frost to really get this train chugging.

Analysts, hire 4 or more, 2 on offense and 2 on defense. Pay Urban Meyer more than he's getting to talk on the TV to consult on the offense. Need two former D coordinators to consult on the D. None of these can help coach but u know what they can do? Draw up some new damn plays, figure out half time adjustments, these coaches are too busy correcting mistakes and aren't making needed half time adjustments that win games.

Look at the list of consultants Saban has:
2019 Alabama Crimson Tide Football Preview: Coaching Staff

And this doesn't include former players.
  • Butch Jones - Former Tennessee, Cincy, CMU head coach. We joke about him but he has a good football mind and the players love him.
  • Major Applewhite - Former Alabama OC, Texas OC, and Houston head coach.
  • Mike Stoops - Former Arizona head coach, Oklahoma DC, brother of Bob and Mark.
  • Joe Houston - Former special teams coordinator at Iowa State, Southern Cal kicker.
  • AJ Milwee - Former Akron OC.

1) Obviously 22 and 23 year olds are going to be more mature and more developed than 18 and 19 year olds.
2) Wisconsin has a 5 year established head coach. It can be argued they have a 30 year established system under Alvarez. Iowa has a 21 year established system.

Right and in contrast to Nebraska, Nebraska has changed courses 4 times in since 2012. That is a lot of recruiting inroads blown up we have had a shit ton of coaching turn over on defense secondary especially. We can get this thing back however it is going to take a lot of work.

I am hearing grumblings of assistants wanting to be let go however Moos talked Frost out of it till the end of the year. Which will most likely be after the Wisconsin game.

In the offensive trenches.

C: (Frost) (RS) Freshman and a (Frost) (RS) Freshman
LG: (Riley) (RS) Sophomore Walk-on and a (Riley) (RS) Junior
RG: (Riley) (RS) Junior and a (Riley) (RS) Sophomore
LT: (Riley) Junior and a (Riley) (RS) Sophomore
RT: (Riley) (RS) Junior and a (Frost) True Freshman
TE: (Riley) (RS) Junior and (Riley) (RS) Sophomore

9 of the 12 are Riley.

0 Seniors
4 (RS) Juniors (22 years old)
1 True Junior (21 years old)
4 (RS) Sophomores (20 years old)
0 True Sophomores (19 years old)

The 3 Frost's players are Freshmen.
2 (RS) Freshmen (19 years old)
1 True Freshmen (18 years old)

I'm guessing on what would be the expected standard on ages, but it just stands to reason that 20-22 year olds are going to be more mentally and physically developed than 18 and 19 year olds.
Thus them getting the vast majority of the 2 deep spots.

Over half (7 of 12) of the O-line 2 deep would be considered underclassmen.
