I like double nickels for Chubb. Feels like a good number. I hope that stays.

I do too.

Btw, Sutton was the first draft pick to sign of the group.

I doubt Freeman keeps #37 there really isn't much left for a RB or DB other than late 30's and early 40's. He basically had the options of 36,37,40,41,46,47,48,49. 22 is worn by Tremaine Brock. He probably ends up making the team. Royce might end up with 28.

BTW, I think it's time for someone to be allowed to wear #24 again. I think they're waiting until he gets inducted into the hall of fame maybe. Denver is good about not totally retiring #'s. 7,18 and 44 are the only ones. I think it might be time to take all of them but 7 out of retirement. Ring of fame is good enough. Seems we don't really retire numbers anymore anyway unless your name is John Elway. I don't like retiring numbers. The St. Louis Cardinals all have to wear #'s in the 60's and 70's because they have so many retired numbers.

But if I am a player and I have random fans saying the # is horrible cause nobody else wore it. I wanna make my own name for my own #, so with that point, it might be worth keeping. ;)

I can't think of many GREAT players who wore #37.

When I think of #37 I can come up with some players "worth a crap" but not many... and a ton of average players, the first "good" players that come to mind are

Doak Walker (Hall of famer)- Maybe Royce is a big Doak fan.
Rodney Harrison
Carnell Lake
Nate Odomes
Jimmy Johnson (Hall of Famer)

Again, I doubt he keeps #37, but could be that he liked it after he sees it trying to make 37 his own famous number like Steven Jackson tried to do with #39.

I consider Deion #21, but yeah he did wear #37 for Baltimore at the end of his career

I have no fascination with numbers and usually can't remember anyone's jersey number, but #37 was worn by Lester "The Molester" Hayes CB of the Raiders - famous for putting "stickum" on his hands with great quantity. He was maybe 2nd to Doak Walker in NFL #37 history - had about an 11 year career - same backfield as the legendary - former Bronco - Willie Brown.

I knew one of the Raiders famous CB's wore #37 but couldn't remember exactly who it was he or Willie Brown. I remember now it was Hayes though because I have an old football card of him.

I always think of James Trapp when I think of #37 but he isn't famous to anyone or anything like that.

Other Broncos players I remember wearing #37

Anthony Lynn
Lorenzo Doss
Cecil Sapp
Tony Carter (his first stint switched to #32 after)
Tyrone Poole
Calvin Lowery

Really an unpopular #. Heck our famous #37 might be Anthony Lynn, I barley consider Tony Carter even wearing it. Lynn was really only a special teams guy. The rest were pretty much 1-2 year players for us. It might be the least worn # in Broncos history.
