I still think a player should be allowed to slow down to almost a stop and then do 50 moves, if this is cool then a goalie should be allowed to meet a player at the Blue line and Knock the shit out of him before he gets started..

during all that jukey-juke.. does the puck not travel backwards? Thereby, by definition, stopping it's forward motion, rendering the shootout attempt over?

It's a fine line granted, but then all those spin-a-rama shootout goals should be disallowed (as the puck definitely is not moving forward towards the goal). In this case, it was lateral which is still deemed to be fine.

Shot clock is an interesting idea, but idk how I'd feel about guys hacking at rebounds with no d-men to protect the goalie.

Beats me... I really dont care either way. A goalie should be able to stop the shot period. It should be treated as a breakaway.
