Sad to see Doug move on... Hope he retires... I'd hate to see him on another team... My guess would be he'll retire because he's a very bright guy who wants to go into politics...

With that said, do you consider Doug a top 10 Seahawk of all time?

A lot of great players have retired or moved on like, Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Shaun Alexander, Kenny Easley, Cortez Kennedy Steve Hutchinson, Marshawn Lynch, Walter Jones, Steve Largent to name a few...

Well, you already have to put him behind the current HOFers Largent, Tez, Walter, and Easley. Then there are the likely future HOFers RW, ET, Sherman, and Wagner. That's 8, and we haven't yet mentioned Hasselbeck, Warner, Lynch, SA, etc. Probably just outside the top 10.

An undrafted rookie to one of the best WRs in Hawks history. I think around 9 or 10.

I don't think top 10 all time Seahawk, but surely top 10 WR Seahawk. Really a shame Doug couldn't keep going :(

Really tough to create a top-10 list when you take into consideration that some positions are simply just more valuable than others. I.e. Walter Jones was probably the best LT of the 2000s, but a QB is obviously more valuable.

I know it's a bit premature, but I think you also have to take Bobby Wagner, Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman into consideration.

By the time it's all said and done, Earl Thomas will be considered the Ed Reed of his time, Richard Sherman a top-5 CB throughout his career and Bobby Wagner has been the best middle linebacker in the NFL for the last 3 seasons. Tough to exclude those 3 guys.

Yeah Walter Jones is in my mind the defacto #1 best Seahawk ever. What he did at LT was better than any LT ever. he had something like a 98.9% success rate over his career or something like that. Or was that 99.8%? man i wish i could find that article again.

they said something like from 1997 to 2007 he gave up only 2 sacks or something.

Or maybe it was 20, thats still only 2 a year.

Really hard to put him in the top 10 but I don't think there's been a better receiver outside of Largent.

Blades was a beast, he was better than Baldwin but he also never had a QB lmao. He got Krieg for a few season and that was it. My top 3 Seahawk WR are Largent, Blades then i throw Baldwin in there with Bobby for #3. Djack is also very close.

I think Largent is the best WR all time thats a no brainer then Blades then after that we got 4-5 guys you can throw together. Galloway is one of them but he burnt his bridge, KRob was a beast if he didn't have the knee issue that ruined his career before it got really started. Bobby was mister clutch even more so than Baldwin and a lot of you forget that. Djack was a great WR that doesn't get enough props. He had 1 year less with the Hawks than Baldwin had, i think thats what many fail to realize. Baldwin would never have passed Djack had they played the same number of seasons.

Baldwin was great and he will be missed and on a team that has not had many great WR it sucks even more because the lose seems bigger.

Hall of Fame Class of 2014: Walter Jones was nearly unbeatable

Get this: In 12 seasons at left tackle -- that's 180 games, mind you -- Jones gave up all of 23 sacks

WORST DAY NFL

his roughest day as a pro also wound up being his last day as a pro with the Cowboys' DeMarcus Ware beating him for two sacks in a blowout Thanksgiving Day loss

» Jones was playing with an injured knee, which would require surgery and ultimately end his career roughly two years later.

I think he's close to top 10, he's right on the cusp, that dude made some not only BIG time clutch catches in the playoffs for us, but he also made spectacular sideline grabs look routine... he was also incredibly consistent not dropping easy ones... definitely one of the best receivers in team history...

I'm tempted to consider Walter Jones #1 as well. It's difficult to compare Walter Jones and Steve Largent considering they play two different positions and one is glamorized more than the other. With Largent, it's hard to discount the fact that he held every major receiving record when he retired and he played back when it was a lot harder to have statistical success as a WR.

I love Baldwin and I've had two great personal interactions with him, but it's really tough to argue being top 10 when you consider the other guys who played for us who either are Hall of Famers, or are likely Hall of Famers.

He will be one of my top-10 favorite players of all time, but it's tough to argue that he was objectively one of the ten best players in Seahawks history.

I would like to put him higher, because he was a major contributor to the Seahawks SuperBowl runs and winning one.
