IMO if the Bengals can get good solid pass rush pressure on a offense the chances of winning are much higher than any other position group. I will take a 2-0 or 3-0 win in the NFL every week. I want pass rushers like I want starting pitching for the Reds, draft the best pass rushers and develop the other positions IMO. :)

I wouldn't be opposed to a pass rusher, but CB, G, WR, S are more important. You don't win 3-0 games in the NFL today.

you can win if youre rushing 4 top flight pass rushers and dropping 7 into a zone like the Giants :thumb:

How many 3-0 games did they win. They barely made the playoffs, then got hot at the right time.

Not arguing it. It was just a generalized statement in the same way you meant it. We had a highly rated D, but scored no points, so we still lost. Again, I'm not opposed to pass rush help, but we have bigger needs.

BTW, the New York Giants pass rushers that were mentioned led the Giants D to the 25th ranked scoring D in the NFL, mainly because of a 29th ranked passing defense.

That's disingenuous.

I'm not arguing for or against pass rush as a need, but I would hardly call our D 'highly rated'. Our D needs plenty of help. And probably the best way to help your D is to have 1) a bona fide pass rush, and 2) a very good run defense.

When you play Colt McCoy twice, Blaine Gabbert, Curtis Painter, Alex Smith, Kyle Orton, Eddie Vedder, Kellen Clements, Jon Skelton, TJ Yates, and Ryan Fitzpatrick your defense looks a little better that it actually is.

That said, we didn't get killed by Joe Flacco and he's the best in the NFL. Maybe there is some hope for us.

I was referring to Charlie Whitehurst - He looks like he'd probably make a better grunge band singer than quarterback.
