Man the Dodgers never fail to live up to what we've come to expect from them in the WS.

How can you not get a guy out who literally fell down flat on the ground??

You could have underhand tossed it home and made that play.

Roberts' reaction slays me

If the Dodgers don't win this series, they are officially the Los Angeles Bills

Couldn't the umpires call some kind of interference? Rays were running onto the field before Arozarena even touches the plate. Not that I'm complaining, as I'm rooting for the Bay Area team.

Is this what it felt like for really Old Timers who were Brooklyn fans in the 1940s and 50s??

Da Bums from Brooklyn always found a way to lose.

I am starting to think these Dodgers are a modern day version of those Boys of Summer teams.

The DODGERS are cursed.

They might not recover from that gut punch loss.

Totally self-inflicted with a poor manager decision, and what should have been 3 fucking errors on the last play

That loss is going to linger for some time.

The only saving grace is that don't have to think about it for long.
No, they got their best pitchers for the next two games... The closer you saw tonight will not return

Because of this neutral site thing, it wasn't even in my mind that Arozarena scoring would end the game.

lol absolutely not. it was obvious as to what was going to happen within 1.2 seconds of the Tampa players jumping out of the dugout

I have no doubt the Dodgers are going to win this series because that’s what you get when you buy your team but I find it hilarious that they’re struggling this much considering their payroll.

lol

The Dodgers didn't "buy" this team. The majority either came up through their system or are guys other organizations had given up on like Turner and Muncy.

Turns out, if you develop a player and he turns out to be really good...you have to pay him more when he re-signs so you can keep him. Doing it that way, you can also afford to finish off your roster by signing a top FA like Mookie.

I don't know why it's so hard for Roberts to understand that Jansen isn't a closer anymore.

wtf's with the end? I got no love for the dodgers but those two Rays were both blocking the 1st base line because they ran on the field before the game was over while Muncy was trying to get to the plate. I don't care if he didn't have a chance. The game wasn't over at that point.

Has anyone else had a terrible quality picture from Fox? Been noticing it for a week.
It must be your television, my picture quality is good.

Kershaw, Buehler, May, Urias, Seager, Bellinger, Smith, Joc, Jansen all came up through the Dodgers system.

Turner, Muncy and Taylor were guys nobody wanted.

Of the main guys on this team they "bought" Mookie(traded away assets for him this year, bought him long term) and Polluck(dude is a platoon player).

The Dodgers are a big market power house but the narrative they went out and built this team through free agency is mental.

Exactly. Also, the 2 biggest contracts on the payroll, by far, are Kershaw and Mookie. One is a first ballot Hall of Famer and the other is arguably the 2nd best player in baseball and will likely also be a first ballot Hall of Famer.

I think some of the narrative comes from the fact that when the Guggenheim Group took over, they were trying to put a winning team on the field while they rebuilt the farm system that had been destroyed by the previous ownership. So, they did "buy" players during that time. But the plan was always to build the farm system, use that to fill the roster and then sign a big money FA or trade for one when it made sense.

There have actually been some big trades that the Dodgers chose not to follow through on because the other team wanted guys in the farm system that the Dodgers didn't want to give up. Iirc, Verlander was one of them.

What’s with the pine tar on that dudes bat. So much he smeared it on his back.
I thought that was illegals. I remember George Brett getting ejected years ago for that. His bat was completely black with it.

I am rooting for the Rays, but outside of that...

Any team that sports THAT lid should NEVER win a championship...
