Jets looking like they could get that prized #1 pick. Darnold isnt getting much help but he also doesn’t look good. Lawrence has to be the guy but they need to make more changes with this organization

It’s more about the team than the QB. Jets really do suck, they seem to be competitive but have not done anything of import for 50 years.

Week 17: Jets get the #1 pick

The next day, Trevor Lawrence returns to Clemson

For sure it starts with the front office. This organization is a mess but that's what bad organizations do---point to the QB. I don't think Gase is the guy either

Darnold did have some nice throws and runs. He has absolutely no help at all. Crowder coming back helps but my god why he does the things he does is beyond me.

Jets have a heck of a lot more problems then just QB but yes BOTH should be looking

The Jets are the worst organization in all of football the disfunction and locker room culture is so bad. They signed Flacco a super bowl winning veteran and Frank Gore a well known and liked player throughout the league and they cant seem to fix the losing culture.

To answer the question is yes if they have the #1 overall pick you draft the best player on the board which is believed to be Trevor Lawrence. I do believe that Sam Darnold was a very good pick and solid prospect but he had no hopes to succeed with the Jets I cant imagine any rookie to go there and change anything. They need to sign a well respected head coach to a lot of money and give him the freedom to make whatever changes he wants. I don't know how available Jim Harbough is to bring him back to the NFL but that would be the candidate in my opinion.

I don't really see how you stick with Darnold if you're the Jets and you have a chance at Fields and Lawrence. Browns were never going to be in serious contention for those two- primarily because Baker is actually decent, albeit flawed.

The Jets pretty much have to. Darnold shows no signs that he can be consistent. He has some talent and flashes at times but then he throws balls into coverage that make one shake their head. Having said that, this kid doesn't have a chance with that team and I wouldn't wish that situation on any young kid.

Lawrence on the Browns would make them one of the best teams in the league but they are way too good to get him. Also, I suspect Baker to look like Lawrence this week against the Cowboys shitty secondary...:sad2:

Darnold was a turnover machine at USC against descent college teams. I've never understood the hype coming outta collage and still think he's a perfect Jets QB

Another thing to take note is both franchises built around these QBs. Cleveland brought in OBJ, Jarvis Landry, Kareem Hunt, they drafted Chubb and Njoku as well. New York brought in Bell, Crowder, Gore.

Browns have effectively run their way out of this conversation. You don't need a QB when you have 2 of the top 8 running backs

Yeah Baker has made the throws and hasn’t made mistakes. Still a wait and see but he is looking much better with Stefanski
