Did Brady just admit to deflating the balls?

Said the balls met NFL specs ... what else would they use to check psi? :noidea:

Yes, but it didn't say if the officials actually tested them. It's also been reported that the officials often just handle them and decide without actually ever putting a guage on them.

We know refs have checked the ball pressure in lots of other games too and that there is a process in place for it, which adds validity to their claim. However, there isn't really anything to help validate Brady's claim and almost universally people who would know say the qb is the one person who would have to approve of any change. Now he does have deniability in knowing the exact measurements of these particular balls, but if this was an abberation it does seem like he would have had to notice something. :noidea:

So how do you explain that Rogers openly talks about how he sends his footballs in over pressurized knowing that the officials don't always catch it?

Ummm you're smarter than that.

If it comes out they didn't get a guage on them and record every entry then it does change everything because you don't have a base line measurement.

Now if it does come out they checked them and they were 12.5, then we need to have the results public of the second test at halftime.

Here's the thing, BB and Brady came out today like they are holding all the cards and the NFL office is holding a 2 of hearts and a 3 of clubs.

Like I have always said, wait till all the facts are in, then we can debate.:suds:

For Brady it would be better if the refs did measure prior, then he'd at least likely have an alibi for where he was at between the time the refs measured and the ball pressure dropped. If not, then there was a 5 hour window he'd have to account for as well as what instructions he gave. (It's still lmao funny were having this discussion about footballs and I just used 'alibi' in relation to it.)

Rodgers never said anything about altering the balls after they have been inspected.

In the quote I read he said he wants his balls at the upper limit and is irritated when the refs deflate them some when they measure.

It appears that he did. He told teammates he likes the ball 'a certain way' which sure sounds like an admission that he at least knew someone was doing this for him. Between this and Belichick's statement, all signs are pointing to Tom now.

I don't think it's a question if he knew who did it. He's been in the league long enough for him to know if a ball is "softer to the touch". He may very well not know who did it, but he's a damn liar if he says he didn't notice a difference in the balls.

Saying there is a process means nothing. There was a process to protect the President, and it ended with the resignation of the agency head after a nut made it to the 2nd floor of the WH.

If we are going to turn over every Brady rock ..lets turn over all the rocks

What ref did the testing?
Did the ref use a gauge?
Did he record the readings?
When was the last time the gauge was tested?
Who witness the testing?
Was it the same ref and gauge that tested the balls before the game and halftime?
Does the ref mark the ball to denote it was one of the tested balls?

Umm you should probably read what has been reported. It's a 10 minute window prior to the game that he would have access to them prior to kick off.

So you agree then that if the officials put the balls into play underinflated then it's on them.

Cmon man. Is it more likely the refs are lying and or the gauges are broken or that the balls were deflated a little on purpose?

I don't even think it's a big deal, but reasonability leads you to one conclusion over another. It probably is deserving of a relatively small fine, a policy change about who controls the balls and not much more.

See that's your problem, IMO, you are not treating it like an investigative person.

Troy Aikman calling Brady a liar is uncalled for. Skip Bayless was right about him.

Ha. Cops follow another little piece of wisdom too, for good reason: The simplest solution is usually the right one.

Exactly and in this situation the conspiracy version that it was a big scheme doesn't hold water. It's the most complicated one and makes no sense.

Mean while the concept of no one on the team, or the league actually paying much attention to the ball pressure in any particular game makes much more sense. It's the least complicated.
