12 team dynasty full PPR 1 QB, 2 RB, 2WR, 1 TE, 2 flex (RB<WR<TE)

Had someone send me a offer for Cam Akers today.

McLaurin and 2022 2nd I declined

Then he went
McLaurin and 2022 1st I declined

Then he offers

McLaurin and a 2022 1st and a 2022 2nd That offer was getting tempting, but I didn't want to get lean at RB. I own Chubbs, Zeke and Akers and then yucky stuff like Hyde.

So then he offers

McLaurin, 2022 1st, 2022 2nd and Devonta Smith I accepted that. Was just too many assets to turn down, even if it left me lean at RB. Still not to enthused about it, those picks will be late as my trade partner has a killer roster.

Should I have declined?

Hell, yeah I would have done that. With that kind of fire power you can easily get a decent 3rd RB from someone and still retain either the picks or F5. I'd think Smith alone should buy a decent RB. Even if you offered Smith and, say the second, it 'should' easily get someone like Carson, Hunt or Gaskin - maybe Jacobs. Obviously it depends on what kind of depth those owners have but value-wise IMO, it was an excellent deal. ... :thumb:

Well he over paid, and I would've declined. Not because it wasn't good value, but because I'm not a believer in McLaurin or D. Smith :)

But that's me...going by most others, you scored big

we agree here, I don't think that highly of McLauren, he's Rob Woods' production at 2x the cost, and I want to see Smith perform at the NFL level before moving an asset like Akers when getting WRs in return.

Don't get me wrong, Harold definitely got decent value back for Akers, but I'd also rather have Akers locked and loaded for a title run vs the potential of that package. I still like this deal if WR was a clear weakness on this team, cause a late 1st/any 2nd round pick in a rookie draft is much more likely to yield decent WRs than it is a decent RB, so you essentially turned Akers into a completely new WR grouping, provided 3/4 pan out.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders.

I like it.
I think you dodged a bullet trading Akers.
My unwritten rule is that if a rookie doesn't make a "head-turning" mark in his rookie season, he won't.
Promising, Akers was a 2nd round pick who played for an innovative young coach.
He missed 5 sporadic games. Only started 5 games; 7 if you include the playoffs.
In 13 games (including playoffs) he only has 846 rushing yards. With only 5 TD.
He's not used much in the passing game (only 17 targets).
IMO these are not "head-turning" accomplishments.

He did finish strong with 489 rushing yards in his last 5 games (including playoffs) (when it barely mattered in a fantasy season).
But he missed a game too (week 16) and the Zona game (week 17) was forgettable.
Then there's this twist... with more touches, his YPC went down in the games he started vs the games he didn't.
Feel better?

I would have done it in a second. I'm not that sold on Akers to be honest.
Same, but man if they're gonna feed him that often...not sold on smith in the nfl either. Thini he was the best receiver on that bama squad with jeudy and waddle....for college. Size is always a concern. There are guys that suceed but far many more fail due to size. That being said, ppr swings this for me. I am mclauring believer, held back by qb and offense, and may still be. But yeah i do this.

Yeah I think the 1st and 2nd rounder are a big part also because even if that guy wins the whole league there will still be a good player at the back end of the 1st round. So essentially you traded one starter and got three in return. Now I like Dad's idea of trying to move Smith and the 2nd or even Smith and the 1st to get another running back.

I totally agree. And i missed your dads idea there. I 100% percent agree with that move. If i can move smith and a 2nd to get back in or obtain a serviceable back then its exponentially better imho.

I would tend to agree on Smith, but pretty high on McLaurin - hate Smith's landing spot - - but my trade thinking would be a WR hungry team would pony up for him. ....

just get on your horse and move those picks for an RB.

I don’t understand McLaurin, but he rakes and Fitz will feed.

Smith wouldn’t be the deal breaker for me, but well done making him add pieces.

you have two 1’s and two 2’s now? What RB does two 1’s get you?

Should get you damned near anyone but Cmac or Barkley...but depending on the owners....some dudes won't trade a known quantity for any amount of picks

Is this more of a haul than we I gave you two 2021 firsts(9 and 11)two 2021 2nd’s (3 and 9) and a 2022 2nd for Akers?

Doubt I would’ve included McLaurin without dropping several of the picks from the deal.

Yes "What RB does two 1's get me?" Is the question. A lot of teams are not strong at RB. The team I just traded with has McCaffery, Dobbins, Gibson, Mixon and now Akers. Before anyone asks he wasn't interested in trading any of his RBs........not yet any ways. Come draft time 2022 that could change.
One other team is strong at RB, he has Taylor, Ekeler, Swift and Monty. The bad news I've never been able make a trade with him and some of our chats have gone south quickly.

Not sure how they stack up against each other TBH. Guess it depends how one feels about McLaurin and Smith.

If you aren’t sold on mcLaurin, it would be easier to package him with a pick or two to get a RB since McLaurin is an established commodity

Smith is unknown and will carry less value right now

Wilson at QB, Kittle at TE, Chubbs and Zeke at RB, McLaurin, Higgins, D. Johnson D. Smith , Reagor and Kirk ( he's sort of lost his shine) at WR
Not a bad roster, not a great roster.

Yes that has crossed my mine. I'm not sure how I want to play this, actively look for a RB, ride with what I got till 2022 draft, or something in between.

Well I'm thinking I should be able to find a flex type of RB from someone for Smith and if the RB is good enough add something to my side to make it happen.
