Keeping the Devils to only 4 shots in the 1st period was nice to see, but, how do the Wings only get 8 of their own, when the Fed Ex truck dropped off the reserve troops today to replenish the Devils lineup? That is worrisome to me as to what to expect the rest of the way.

Only 4 shots for us this period is pathetic, especially against a wounded Devils team. Time to ship out the dead weight on this team. Kiss nostalgia in the ass and start thinking about "now". Give them their walking papers, so that we can get somebody in here who can score goals. Bottom line in the NHL is that without goal scoring, you won't win enough games to go anywhere, except to the shithouse.

That was probably the best period we've played on both sides of the puck in quite a long time. We maintained control of the play in the Devils end quite often, controlled neural ice, and shut them down in our end. What a turnaround from what we've seen for the last month.
