I would say he didnt get much out of Goff or Foles while he had them. Not that either is a reliable franchise QB but Fisher isnt the type of guy that can make QBs look better than they are.

He's a defensive coach and former DB. He leaves the QB ruining to his OC, lol.

Yeah, but if you’re the Texans, do you want to start a young QB that will only get better or an old QB that will only get worse. Ryan may be a viable starter still, but that would need to be with a team that doesn’t already have a young starter in place.
Or the Texans can try and compete now while Mills is going to have a learning curve and have ups and downs.

Ryan is a steady starter.

Mills started last season because they had to play them, not because he was ready.

I don't think sitting him for a year for Ryan then bringing him back does him any favors in his development though. Plus, Ryan has this year and next left on his contract.

True, my bad. I thought he had just 1 year left on his deal.

Deshaun Watson went 4-12 with this Texans team in 2020. Is Matt Ryan gonna have them competing better than Watson did? They’re much better served letting Mills start and develop than waste time on Matt Ryan starting, unless their goal is to get higher draft picks the next couple seasons.

Mills played very well and even the Texans would be so stupid as to bench him next year for Matty Ice. The Texans are not a contending team. They are in full rebuild mode. Why would they play a veteran instead of seeing what a young QB can do???

Yeah, on 2nd thought the Texans don't need Ryan.

The Texans also don't need to take on Ryan's contract. It would be a collossal waste of money. If Watson did go to Atlanta, I would have to think Indy is Ryan's next stop. And if Watson chooses New Orleans, Winston likely goes to Indy.

Falcons rumor never made sense.

AFC stacked.

There will be 3 or 4 star QBs watching the playoffs from at home next year in the AFC
