Again the franchise never said this is the reason they cut him, the media did....

The gang thing is a cop out, it's hardly the only reason why they cut him. If association with shady characters is simply going to get you thrown out, we should all just say goodbye to a good number of any team's rosters.

If he was a model teammate and good guy there would be no "guilt by association" and the Eagles would have simply looked the other way from who he surrounds himself with like every team does with lots of players.

I don't buy this either. Bill Romanowski might have been the biggest douche to EVER play football......he's spit on a teammate, broke one's jaw and another's orbital bone. Charles Haley broke out a teammates sunroof and shat in his car. These guys were some of the WORST teammates and locker room guys of all time......and none of them ever got cut.

This is all BS. Plain and simple, Chip Kelly didn't like the guy. All this other impugning of his reputation is BS and uncalled for. This is management tactics 101 - get rid of a guy, and try to make it all about him, instead of us.

The Eagles got rid of him because the coach didn't like him. You guys should be able to figure this out pretty easily.

Yes its obvious that they cut him because Kelly didnt like him. But why doesnt he like him? All i said was that if he was a good guy and a model teammate he wouldnt have been cut, because if he was those things Kelly would have liked him more.

Possibly......but Kelly has had worse than Jackson at Oregon, with a looooong line of criminals he's recruited......so I'm not sure that's really it either. You're right in that Jackson could be a better teammate - but that doesn't guarantee he's an Eagle today even if he had.

Chip Kelly has his own agenda.

I guess it's possible everything was a contribution to him being cut.

It could have been his attitude, there were reports of him no showing or showing up late to teams meetings and stuff, maybe he didn't get along with Kelly, and really he's been above average only until last year. Was it because he turned himself into a great receiver, or because the system allowed him more opportunities?

The gang stuff is obviously sensational, but really flashing gangs signs on the sideline, hanging out with known gangsters, and having a 'professional' association with them through a record label DJax own is a little different than seeing that guy you went to high school with that you see at a wedding who happens to be in a gang or your uncle/cousin who still gang bangs.

Maybe they see that associations growing stronger too.
