Derrick Walker now head of IndyCar Racing, Operations

Just announced this afternoon: indycar.com

There will be a separate head of business/marketing announced later, which means that we're going back to the Barhardt/Angstadt era division of responsibilities.

It's good to have SOMEONE in charge, & I certainly understand & appreciate that Walker has plenty of respect in the paddock (for now), but I'm not calling this a major coup/improvement until I see what he does - & IF he can get the team owners to play along.

I agree Indy. The IRL needs to have a direction because it is floundering again and it could easily overtake NASCAR if uit would just get a direction that Mario Andretti has been clamoring for for some time.

Especially with the notion of the boredom factor that now resides with NASCAR and the idiots running that WWE look-a-like.

It could be good. Just hopefully they don't screw it up, because last year and this year have been the best that Indycars have raced in years.
