I thought Noah was easily the better pitcher up until this season, but now I think deGrom might be a much better pitcher right now. deGrom has always been very good, but he's been taking a step or two forward and he's seen his strikeout rate rise from 8.7 to 12.2 in just two years. He could very well be in the conversation with Scherzer and Kershaw for being the best pitcher in baseball, though the latter is debatable with his recent injury history.
Degrom is off to a CY potential start to this season... But overall they are about equal... and when there is a tie, I will always go with ceiling... and I think Syndegaard's ceiling is much higher...
