Very disappointed in the defense. I thought they'd be better than this. I think its time to find a new d coordinator. :L

On the brightside, 18 teams have given up more yards in penalties. What are we ranked 31st in defensively? It's definitely not points.

I thought they'd be better than this.
I had us pegged about exactly as we are...horrible pass rush...horrible secondary...but I missed on the LBs...I had them as horrible too but they are only below-average.

THE WORLD IS ENDING!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!! Knew the doom and gloom crowd would be coming out. We've played some of the highest powered offenses in the NFL this year. 21st ranked defense is not that bad.

We are scoring 26.6 ppg and giving up 23.9. talk to me when we are giving up more than we score. That is what matters.

On a brighter note we are +5 in the turnover ratio.

Those are the 2 stats that matter to me. We score more than we give up. And we force more turnovers than we give up. We keep doing that we are a playoff team.

Not really. The Pack... maybe the Bears. That's it 2 out of 7. The Skins offense was crap when we played them.. RG3 was still hurting. The rest are well below average offensively. You're right about the turnovers. That's been a bright spot.

NFL Stats: by Team Category. Pack second. Skins fourth. Bears 11th, Bungals 12th..., its just yards though. Which, like Time of Possession don't mean anything if you score less points.

We've ONLY played three of the top ten SCORING offenses though. Compared to 7/32 teams. And we cant play ourselves, the Lions are 8th in scoring. (1/3 of the top nine score offenses, other than the Lions, have played the Lions) For the record, Id put Sundays loss on the special teams more than anything. While noting that Dalton tore the secondary a new one also.

Every facet lost this game.

Stafford made some plays and missed some too. I'm just glad his errant throws are in spots where the defense can't make a play either.

Line wasn't getting any pressure. Houston was getting smoked. Slay played pretty well.

Blocked fieldgoal. Shanked punt.

This loss is on the players. Poor execution.

I wonder if we let mcNown go off on us when we play the bears and some team throws him a shitload of money in the offseason...

The lions make QB's look like HOF's

Tony romo will most likely put up 350 depending on how much they rush for....would be nice to have a shut down defense JUST ONE YEAR.

31st in yards allowed is still pathetic. It has been a bend and not break defense and has been better this year thanks to an impressive levy and delmas and quin. But they continue to give up one 50 plus yd td almost every game and many times that is the difference. There is still much work to be done.

We've played some of the highest powered offenses in the NFL this year. 21st ranked defense is not that bad.

We have? What high powered offense have the Lions faced, other than Green Bay? I guess Washington could be considered a good offense, but RG III definitely isn't himself yet, or at least he wasn't when Detroit faced him.

I'm not trying to jump on the negative train, but saying Detroit has faced some of the highest power offenses, when they have played Arizona, Cleveland, Minnesota, Cincy, etc. is going overboard.

I think the Lions defense has struggled in areas we thought they would be improved (the secondary, specifically Houston). They have been much better in areas where we thought they would struggle (LBs -- ESPECIALLY Levy). I know many thought Detroit would be improved at rushing the QB, but I wasn't one of them, so seeing them struggle to get pressure isn't very surprising to me. The strongest part of the defense thus far is the play of the safeties -- they have done very well for us.

I think it has a lot to do with having so many new starters, losing Jason Jones and some guys who have played well in years past, who have struggled. Detroit isn't going to overwhelm anyone defensively, but I think they have a solid enough unit to be competitive with most teams.
