First time to do my own mock. Must have something to do with all the painkillers I am on :)....

1. Byron Jones. The Eagles really don't have a 2nd corner and desperately need to leave the draft with one. They are looking at Byron Jones, Kevin Johnson, Jalen Collins and Eric Rowe. All could be available and I would not be upset with any of the four. But all four will likely go before their 2nd round pick, so they need to pick one here. Either be reaching a little, or maybe a small trade down.

2. Nelson Agholor. He is not a lock to be available at 52, but one of these really good receivers should be. Other possibilities are Jaelen Strong or DGB. This may also be facilitated by a small trade down in 1, enabling a small trade up in 2. I am also interested in Safety, so Rowe or Randall would be excellent picks here.

3. Ali Marpet. The Eagles should be able to find a solid starter at Guard in the 3rd and they showed interest in Ali Marpet. I have a soft spot for the D3 story so I am rooting for this one. Other possibilities are Tre Jackson or Arie Kouandjio.

4. Adrian Amos. The Eagles need a starting safety and were recently linked to Adrian Amos from Penn State. This may be a reach, but if they like him, this is when they need to get him.

5. Davis Tull. They need an OLB to push Smith, and I am intrigued by Davis Tull. Lots of potential from a small school.

5. Austin Shepherd. The Eagles need to look for the Evan Mathis replacement as well as Herremans, so I think they go with the guy they know and love in Austin Shepherd. Stoutland will vouch for him.

6. Cody Fajardo. Time to replace Barkley. I think the Eagles will make him available for a bag of chips on draft day. The Eagles have shown keen interest in this guy.

7. Bryan Bennett. The Eagles could go several ways here, as the other guys they like, they could just sign as FAs at this point. I have them taking their former QB and giving him a look at Safety.

Don't like the Jones pick, Small school prospect that had a good combine....not a fan....Agholor most likely will not make it to us in rd 2, you will have to drop back in rd 1 or trade way up in rd 2 for him....Ali Marpet i like, i think he will be good from what i saw senior bowl week....Amos I think is good value...Tull won't be there in rd 5....Shepherd is great value if still there, however I think he could go rd 4. Round 6 and 7 a QB?????

Byron Jones is my favorite, but it may be better to go with Collins or Johnson. You just can't leave the first round without one of these guys.

Not sure Agholor will be there either, but with the depth at WR, I think that there will be a 1st round talent type WR available later in the 2nd. I could see them executing a trade with New Orleans, picks 20 and 52 for 31 & 44 to make this work. Or it may just fall in their lap like this.

I did several runs with the simulator using the CBS rankings, and had Tull and Shepherd available in the 5th many times. Who knows.

Seventh round picks are really no better than UDFAs really, I picked Bennett as I know they have discussed moving him to Safety... I don't think they take him as a QB.

What I am thinking in general is that Kelly is not a patient man and is looking for immediate returns from the draft. This draft could net 4 immediate starters at CB, S, WR and Guard. No early round projects for Chip.

Marpet has gained major steam recently. ESPN had commentators talking him up on this morning's show. He can go as early as early 2nd ... you can find decent Guards in middle rounds though. Agholor won't be there, but I agree that we can still get value at the position with that pick. Byron Jones scares me ... did anyone have him as anything earlier than a Rd 4 or 5 pick before the Combine? To me me he sounds like the Mike Mamula of CB's. Now, he may prove to be the next big thing, but to me you take chance on a player like him mid 2nd, not the 20th pick in the draft. I do agree with CB in Rd 1 all the way though. Really like Fajardo late ... Amos and Tull would both be very good value.

I think that is a pretty realistic draft.

Dave,
Your is very similar to a mock that I did.
I love Agholor, but unless Chip trades back to get him, and a top CB, we may not get him. "Experts" think he's a reach @ #20, so we'll see.
The rest look very good, and I'm sure that Chip will go for Fajardo, if it plays out in that favor.
I've always been on the Amos bandwagon. Several experts think he is nothing special, but to me, is a solid pick, and I'd rather have a competent S then what we've endured for the past 6 or 8 years, after Dawk left.
Not a bad mock!

I checked him out after you brought him up duke and I liked what I saw ... the kid can lay the wood. May draw some flags at the pro level, but he's fierce.

I am more of a strategist than an evaluator, so ultimately, I will take others word for it on which player is better than which. My focus is more on when to pick which position to get best value and fill needs. From that perspectitve, it seems like they need to go CB, WR, OG, S, OLB in that order to get the best results.

EXACTLY REY! I'm not saying Byron Jones can't be a nice player, but damn the guy wasn't even a thought prior to the combine....That shit scares me.

I'm good from the 3rd pick down. I'd go WR in the first and CB in the second.
