Why would the Chiefs want to trade him? Bad in a new scheme? Feel he wants too much cash/Chiefs strapped?

They tried to trade him Friday but he jumped early on the paperwork and they need a do-over.

Doesn't fit new scheme and has been injury-prone

Scheme fit? I can see. Injury prone? Yeah...he's been hurt a bit, but I don't think a guy who has had double digit sacks in two of the past three years is someone you'd just trade away.

If Ford doesn't jump offside, Brady's pick probably sends the Chiefs to the SB.

He didn’t “jump” offsides he lined up offsides ... but otherwise I agree

Too big of a question mark for the Chiefs to put money into when they have big contracts looming.

You're banking on him to stay healthy and that will allow him to continue to play at his 2018 in upcoming seasons. It's an even bigger gamble because he'll likely command a pretty nice sum of money in a contract.

I'd say the Packers between the two are the more likely of the two just because giving up the 44th pick is a lot easier to stomach than giving up the 36th especially when you have two 1st round picks. If the 9ers are willing to give up that 36th the Chiefs will definitely pull the trigger on that one.

From the 9ers perspective I can understand the interest. There is no guarantee that Bosa is going to be at #2 and even if he is they could really use two edge rushers. If you get Bosa along Ford (playing at 2018 levels) with Buckner in the middle that suddenly becomes a pretty good pass rush and not to mention if they end up signing Earl Thomas for the back end.

Yes. And the Chiefs traded him for a 2nd-round pick in 2020.

That was not a good move for a 10-sack-caliber guy like Ford. I hate to give Lynch credit because he sucks at the draft & FA so badly, but he took the Chiefs on this one.
