Why are so many teams declining this year?

You simply did not do enough to get in

You still get to play in a Bowl Game and get Money!!

Bottom Line - You refuse to play, you forfeit NIL Money. Thats what SHOULD happen

Oh I fully agree there are too many bowls and I've said that all along. But teams are sitting out because they think they deserve playoffs. Please don't extend it to anymore teams because what's the point if everyone gets in

Well - I think that’s a one team list there...

I don't blame ISU and KSU given their roster issues.

Nor do I blame a school like Baylor (5-7) passing up the “opportunity” either as they are well into their recruitment efforts.

but for starters, there are way too many bowl games. they need to cut out 6-6 and 7-5 teams being bowl eligible. 8-4 and above.

and for the record, there are numerous DIFFERENT reasons teams are opting out of bowls. not all are doing it out of spite like nd.

I think there should be a better way to do it when it comes to new coaches. You shouldn't punish programs from trying to move on. That said, maybe bake that into these coaches contracts who make $10mil+ a year that if you get fired that year and the fine comes in that it comes out of the previous coaches salary.

the cameras try their best to not show the stands but have slip ups during the game and show the stands, there is no one there except for a few family members. that's it. Its embarrassing.

I disagree. Half these games feature mediocre teams and are purely gambling events aired on ESPN. The concept of a “bowl game” has mostly become meaningless. If some shitty team doesn’t want to participate in some shitty Bowl Game, I am fine with it.

Why? The bowls aren’t valued anymore. What right do you have to set contract terms between two parties that aren’t you?

Some of those “Championship” games don’t either. That ACC game in Charlotte looked about half full.
