You really think so? Jamarcus is one of the worst QBs we've seen in the NFL in a long time. Put him behind the Bears' terrible OL and that's a disaster waiting to happen IMO.

Russell only started for two seasons. In the first one, he cared, and the results were pretty solid. He had a 78 QB Rating with the single worst supporting cast, and he also showed marked improvement as the year went along. He demonstrated the ability to make the throws that Hanie could only dream of. Then he had a mental breakdown (no other way to say it). If his head is screwed on straight and Trestman can work with him to make better decisions and not fumble the ball (things he is supposedly good at), he is a huge upgrade.

They lost to Oakland by 5, KC by 7 (in a 10-3 game), and the Broncos in OT (13-10). Every game saw Hanie miss at least three open TDs. I think are about 85 QBs that could have led the Bears to the playoffs, and yes, I think JaMarcus is one of those guys. If you think Caleb Hanie could have put up a 78 QB rating with Oakland like Russell did his second season, it is you that is "fucking stupid."

Really? In 2011 he was probably pushing 320 lbs and writing a book about the purple drank diet. The 2011 Bears were pretty good until Cutler and Forte went down... but they weren't good enough to win with Russell who had given up on football in 2009.

2013 Russell, working really hard to get back into the NFL might make a good 3rd string QB. I'd still be nervous about him as a 2nd string because he has been out of the NFL for 3 years
