Any of you guys know how to get in touch with him? He was finishing up his treatments and said he was doing better then radio silence. Needless to say, I'm worried about the guy. He hasn't logged on in over two months and that's not like him at all.

Anyone know anything? :hope:

Sorry, I do not. This raises some thoughts about how well we really know each other on here. We spend time together here and admitted or not, we come to care and appreciate each other. I even like you!

Releasing information on each other on the internet can be dicey. It is forever recorded. Ex: K_____has revealed being thrown out of every town he has lived in. That kind of information about myself I could not reveal because of my clearance. Young guys should worry about their internet history eventually becoming part of the hiring process. I would not want every stupid thing I said or did in my twenties to come back in black and white later in life.....

Back to our internet friends, some of you I wish I could get to know (I think!)
Even a guy like breaker is probably worth having a beer with. (maybe not)
I could probably argue with JDM for hours

No shit, man?! :omg:

Even a guy like breaker is probably worth having a beer with.

Probably nearly everyone fits that category. It's very easy in the heat of the moment to forget that it's a person on the other end and not just a username. The anonymity desensitizes us to being careless toward others and tends to bring out the worst in us.

I agree. I try rally hard to not be careless to others. Even some of the guys I think I dislike. Problem is, I'm a smartass by nature. I am often misunderstood. (That sound too wussy!)

I spent my younger days in South Boston (hence, Southie) Spent my teenage years and on as a Californian. I have the awful combination of "Southie atitude" and California sense of humor, best summarized: If you want to be a smart ass and laugh along with me - no problem. Don't like it? - make your move.....

Years back on a message board I'd been a part of for years, a woman logged in to tell us that our buddy, her husband, had died suddenly that week. He went by the moniker Everybody's Favorite Santa and his name was Roger. He actually did look like Santa and was a really nice guy. We were all so shocked and sad.

So yeah, here's to hoping dblakejr7 is hanging in there and getting well and here's to all of us keeping shit in perspective and realizing that no matter what we disagree on, we'd all have laughs together over a beer IRL.

I've know Blake for a long time. He tends to go off and not chat for long periods of time. I've had the same Fantasy Football league since 1986 and he joined for one season and had move and left the league and we didn't hear from him for several month. He never went into the CBS boards for that same amount of time.

I didn't know he was ill and I hope he's doing well. I've found over the years, that most of the regulars in the boards are knowlegable, fun people. Most genuinely care about others that they've gotten to know and have discussed sports and life with.

I'll dig around my archives and see if I can get hold of him.

He's been back since this post was made, ken. Not hugely active, and feel free to do whatever you're planning on to get in touch, but he did check in.
