thought he talking about ex-NBA commish stern?

IF NOT…oh well, 1st mistake of the new year i suppose.

He was. But the way you phrased that sentence makes it look like Stern passing away is the best thing to happen to the NBA

condolences for sure ...

he hit the lottery when the late great Larry O’Brien died just as the Larry Bird and Magic Johnson rivalry blew up the NBA’s popularity ... and Stern took over as commish

With the sole exception of Rozelle, he impacted his sport more than any commissioner in my lifetime. From TV to the International expansion of the game, no one was bigger.

The first thing that comes to mind is the disgraceful Jim Rome incident. They both looked like children. The next thing that comes to mind is the cp3 trade about when i think of it i cant remember any other veto in recent memory.

The NBA did thrive under him. Yet the most important thing he ever taught anyone

Massage the balls, its a lost art.

RIP.
