Great insight on assistant coaches... I guess that aspect never once crossed by mind, but it's got to be rough to be know a regime change is on the way.

I'm very excited to see what Palushaj and Pacioretty can do at the NHL level. Max was rushed, but Palushaj had plenty of time to season. Sounds like Patch is on the right track, and ready to go.

Damn right about Lidstrom. He's too private of a person, and a big time family man, so I have a feeling after he retires he will disappear. It's too bad, I think he would make a fantastic coach, a brilliant GM, and a very insightful broadcaster. If they have to fire Gary Green to make room, I'm willing to make that sacrifice.

Ericsson has looked much much better this year, but I still think he has zero hockey sense. I know it's not hard to go from center to defense mid-career, but geez..

14) You also have to wonder if the players truly believe in any of those goalies. It's similar to Jimmy Howard in Detroit. He played well last year, but really won everyone over with the Game 7 win in Phoenix. It finished 6-1, but was scoreless into the second. He made a couple of big saves on the road before the Wings busted through Ilya Bryzgalov...

Jimmy won me over before the playoffs started. And won the management over about 5 years ago, imo.
