You had to know it was coming with all of Marko and Horner's saying they no big changes in the works and they are fine with who they had across teams. Feels like the move is focused on pressuring Perez with a healthy side dose of seeing if Yuki has the chops by comparison to drive the RB. If Danny comes straight off the couch and stomps Yuki, I would bet both Alpha Tauri seats are open next year and DR moves back up to RBR. If Yuki holds his own, he gets the RBR seat and Danny stays to mentor the newbie. Hopefully Pato O'ward or Alex Palou get legit shots.

Feels excessively harsh on DeVries, though. He hasn't set the world on fire, but he hasn't been a disaster either.

De Vries has been pretty bad and is 28, but this does seem a little harsh.

I’d bet this wouldn’t have happened if Perez wasn’t driving like dogshit. There are macro issues at RB, and NDV is an easy sacrifice to test whether Danny Ric is seriously capable of taking over as the #2. Apparently in his tire test at Silverstone he was lapping consistently faster than Perez
