Sad part with Kopech is he otherwise gave up only one hit. Which is why the old cliché a walk is as good as a hit is so fitting here.

And speaking of hits, I continue to lament over the incredible lack of production this season with our side's bats.

5 runs on 2 hits for the Yanks. Kopech was great except he lost his pitching rhythm to the plate after 3 outs in the 2nd. He needs to clean that up and if he does, he will be elite.

The runs our staff surrendered in that series after creating 2 out/nobody on situations was infuriating. Donaldson's home run was the perfect cherry on top of that series. When Ruiz started struggling in the at bat prior to it, you just saw it coming. It was so predictable. I turned off the game before Donaldson touched 2nd base on his trot. Just brutal.
