I still believe Dak and the Cowboys come to terms on a new contract.

Reports are they are already guaranteeing 105M.I've been watching this Dak/DAL dance from a distance.
If DAL truly does want to keep Dak long term...I think they have to be at $70 mil guaranteed over the 1st two seasons because if they tag him again next yr...that's roughly what he will cost...so I would look for a deal to be done as well.
What is your source?Reports are they are already guaranteeing 105M.
By all reports the stalemate is over contract length. Dak wants only 4 years Dallas is at least 5.
Now it's possible Dallas is trying 6 or 7 years because they like the flexibility to push salary back into years 6 and 7 for cap purposes after the deal is signed.
So length of contract is the main issue?Reports are they are already guaranteeing 105M.

Oh yeah? Would you be willing to play for the league minimum? It's a tricky one. If it means paying Dalton $15M per vs. paying $30M per (or something) for Dak.... eh.... MOST QBs would be rivaling Dak's stats given the offense he's in. Top 5 OL, top 5 RB, good WR weapons and they just added Lamb. LOL, hell I could throw for 1,000 yards and a couple TDs with that and I've never played organized football.
Either way Cowboys are the clear winners. There's a good chance due to COVID that the cap is going to take a massive hit next year due to decreased league funding. No team will be able to pay Dak what he wants lol. Dalton is a GREAT insurance policy if Dak is going to sit for a year.

I don't buy that the guaranteed money being offered is the same for both a 4 and 5 year deal. If he wants 4 years then he gets less guaranteed money. So if it is $105M @5 years then it is $95M for 4 years or if it is $105M for 4 years then it is $115M for 5 years. I also don't buy that any reports are totally accurate. Even the actually headlines that come out after every single big contract are misleading. The devil is in the details = look at Amari's contract and Wentz's and most other deals that were tweeted one way, from I assume the agent, and then after further review were much different.Reports are they are already guaranteeing 105M.

My point is you couldn't throw for 1,000 yards...Uh, $500K and front row seats + top medical crews + food service? Sure.
Not sure what your point is. I'm saying that while Dak will probably get a mega contract, given his supporting cast I'm not sure it makes sense for the Boys to give him one.
My point is you couldn't throw for 1,000 yards...
Of course I thought that was obvious in my post and I thought you were joking anyway because I hope you don't actually believe you could
Per reports, yes.So length of contract is the main issue?
I agree the guarantee money offered is on a 5 or more year deal. What's not being reported is Daks salary and guarantee he wants in a four year deal.I don't buy that the guaranteed money being offered is the same for both a 4 and 5 year deal. If he wants 4 years then he gets less guaranteed money. So if it is $105M @5 years then it is $95M for 4 years or if it is $105M for 4 years then it is $115M for 5 years. I hope so, and quickly. If Jerry caves to 4 years I say do it at a reduced salary and guaranteed $$$.Seems like this will get done for 5.
