After winning the 2017 World Series, someone asked Dallas Keuchel about the after effects in winning the championship and the World Series hangover, and the chances of repeating.

"We're not the Cubs," the left-hander told The Washington Post. "I firmly believe we have better players."

They do have better players than the Cubs. It's incredibly hard to win a World Series, it's exponentially harder to repeat. That's why it hasn't been done in nearly 20 years, and makes what the Yankees did from 98-00 so incredible.

Didn't Javy Baez say essentially the same thing when comparing the Cubs to the Brewers?

It was an answer to a question. Why doesn’t anyone understand these quotes are answers to stupid questions from the press?

I didn't think it was a stupid question......repeating in any sport is tough

And I don't remember the Astros being in the 2016 World Series..........

And he didn't have to go out of his way, to trash the CUBS.

What was the question? Got a link to it?

Before the season began, Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel was asked whether he was concerned about the team potentially having a hangover of sorts after winning the championship. His answer at the time likely piqued Cubs fans, because he took a shot at the 2016 champions.

Edit:

I cannot find the direct question, but it's possible Cubs were included in that question.

“We’re not the Cubs,” Astros lefty Dallas Keuchel told the Washington Post when asked about the possibility of a Cubs-like World Series hangover in 2018. “I firmly believe,” he went on, “we have better players.”

Dallas was right...people LIKE the Cubs

Not many do. Scumbag franchise with scumbag fans. It's a damn shame that the WS drought didn't last until each individual that helped make Bartman's life a living hell was in the cold, hard ground. Those scumbags didn't deserve to celebrate a WS, and those that defend them don't either.

Alou wouldn't have caught it anyways, and Bartman didn't cause the error on the DP ball.

The cubs could’ve been referenced in the question is my point.

OK, I think I found the interview, and yes the Cubs were included I the question.

Astros hoping to avoid the inevitable World Series hangover: 'We're not the Cubs'

Except there is a reason only one franchise in the past 40 years has managed to repeat as World Series champs — the 1998, 1999 and 2000 New York Yankees. For a team to win a championship, by necessity everything must go right, from good health to good chemistry to good karma. And it isn't easy to replicate it the year after. Just ask the Cubs — who won the World Series in 2016 with a young core, brought back essentially the same team in 2017, but won 11 fewer games and bowed out of the playoffs in the National League Championship Series.

At least you're consistently wrong about everything...........
I never blamed Bartman.....But the fans did reach into the field of play.
And if it was fan interference in the Red Sox / Astro game, then it certainly was in the CUBS / Marlins game.

The fans clearly reached INTO the field of play
The umpire blew the call.
by the way......
The CUBS drew 3.1 mil fans at Wrigley this year..........The Braves drew 2.5 mil at Sun Trust whatever park

The CHICAGO CUBS are .........dare I say it............AMERICA'S TEAM........just like that NFL team from DALLAS

Um the yankees did so much more than that earlier. Look up the 1940s to 60s.

God damn son, it was very obvious I was talking about the last time a team won back to back World Series. Read. Comprehend what you read, and then reply.
