Nice thing about baseball stats, there aren't any "somebody" stats, or "anybody" stats. Or garbage time stats, like football and basketball. But there are stats with plus signs next to them, and I will never give two shits about any of those. Adjust all you want, but make sure to spit afterward.

Also don't care what anyone's WAR was in a given year. But it's nice to eyeball for a career. Like a cheat sheet. I put next to no stock into it. Maybe more than I do defensive stats though.

Let's use a prime example. Derek Jeter. Is he Mr. November or Captain Clutch if he played for the Twins his entire career? Does he have 3400 hits if he played for the Pirates his entire career? He is the perfect example of how one can be affected by his team and the players around him. Maybe we can understand more by not living and dying with stats but seeing the entire picture.
100% perfect example. 100 years from now, people who never saw them play will look at their stats and say they weren't even close. And yet....I'd bet if you polled MLB Execs and coaches, and told them you could have either player with the exact same career, on and off the field and playoffs as well, the largest majority would take Jeter

Baseball reference has stats for every kind of situation imaginable. High leverage, low leverage, late and close situations,RISP, stats by inning, ballpark, where they batted in the lineup. IMO unless you have Dr. Phil's degree you can't tell those things you're referencing either.
Yeah but.....after you watch a guy play, do you really need to go look at the box score before deciding howgood he is? Come on

I plan to draft a player who is related to a current or x Yankee.
