You would be wrong. :suds: Cano is better in every area.

3rd best all time fielding percentage at second base and bats .300? He also has an MVP on a team that won the world series.

Well he isn't Cano is better but still a nice pick for me considering the other 2B options
It was a great pick.

I thought about taking Utley and seeing what I could get for either of them.

But then I traded witnh milk, who I'm trying to trade with again.

Pedroia over Cano? Ya know drug addiction is a serious thing!

As someone who has watched both for many years it's not close. Cano does things you rarely see from a 2B. He has one of the best arms for a 2B ever he makes throws from behind 2B with a flick of the wrist. Then you get to his sweet batting stroke and it's insane.

Cano has had in my estimation at least 3 seasons better than Pedrioa's MVP year. Also Cano has s higher career average with much more power. Defensively they're both great Cano an amazing arm and almost if not as much range as Pedy

I work with a Mariners fan who agrees with me, but that might be sour grapes because he had a down year after signing that massive contract

Well yeah i knew he had no interest in joining Seattle and never wanted to leave NY. Yankees made a big mistake

So I get the impressions that I might be in the minority here......

Serious dropoff to Utley or Utley ahead of Cano?

Durability is a huge difference. Cano plays every game every year and Utley was injury prone. Also almost a 30 point average difference between them with Cano having just as much power

We are to the point that I can back down, or take it to the next level so.........

I would take Pedroia over Hornsby or Morgan!

True about durability. But taking Utley from 05-09 vs Cano 10-14 (their peaks more or less), Utley has a lower avg, but more HRs, SBs, and higher OBP and SLG. If you wanna say Cano is better I get it but I dont see how theres a big dropoff.
