If we can stay healthier pitching wise this season, that’s one of the better rotations in our division at the very least.

The big question is health and Miami could afford to trade a pitcher. Their pitching looks stout with Alcantara, Eury, Weathers, Meyer and some guys like Thomas White and Snelling who could be called up this year at some point. I think it is good for Caissie, he didn't have a real opportunity in Chicago with limited playing time even going into this year. Marlins are looking good for the future.

I think it’s a good trade for both teams. Miami has the pitching depth to make a move to help their offense, and Caissie is likely a long-term solution in the middle of their lineup. Meanwhile, the Cubs get a pitcher who can slot into the middle of their rotation, granted with some health issues, and dealt from a surplus of hitting.

The Orioles were rumored to be in on Cabrera, but we went a different direction with Shane Baz, and given the arm talent there and Cabrera’s injury history, I’m fine with that.

Side note, it’s criminal that Kim Ng doesn’t have another GM position, or at the very least, isn’t helping another organization develop pitching. The Marlins under her were one of the best organizations at developing pitching, and we’re seeing that with what’s in the majors right now.
